Preamble: The Policy is implemented to provide operational parameters that members can abide by during the COVID-19 crisis.

Temperature testing
As per point 1(b) of this policy, as a preventative measure, all COVID-Safe certified martial arts schools shall have in place a formal, proactive testing procedure. Temperature screening shall ensure that all persons with a temperature of 100.4 or over, are restricted from entry into the class.
Screening will be conducted at the entrance by a designated screener.
If the scanner’s reading is within the normal range of body temperature (equal to or less than 99.5 degrees), Then it is considered safe to enter. If a person’s temperature is equal to or in excess of 100.4 degrees, the person will not be allowed to enter and be advised to return home, call their healthcare provider and get COVID testing if necessary. Screeners will record each instance of high temperature readings.
Normal body temperature is considered to be between 97.7 and 99.5 degrees F (36.5 to 37.5 C)

- a) Two hand cleaning stations where students will clean hands upon arrival.
- b) A requirement that the temperature of all persons entering be tested via a contactless forehead thermometer--persons with a temperature of 100.4 or over will not be permitted to enter.
- c) Students should have their own equipment such as boxing gloves, focus mitts, jumpropes etc. If using facility equipment, a “single user” rule will apply---only one user for any equipment for any class. All Equipment will be thoroughly cleaned after use.
- d) When so permitted by Government regulation, partner training can occur. When allowed, a training partner must remain the same person for the duration of the class, i.e., no changing partners. No partner training is allowed until government regulation allows it.
Other items:
- Spectators are not allowed. Parents must drop off their child and wait outside. Our lobby may accommodate up to 3 parents for children with special needs or children in need of assistance.
- Where possible, classes will have clearly posted signs for separate entry and exit areas.
- When conducting back to back classes, once a class is finished, there will be no entry for the next class participants until all those in the previous class have left.Instructors will ensure that the following items will be part of the safety supplies: *hand sanitizer, disinfectants, mops, cleaning cloths, gloves, paper towels, soap, Kleenex, face masks.
- Instructors will ensure that cleaning and sanitizing will occur before and after each class, and where required during class--with particular attend to restroom, entry doors and other high-touch areas.Instructors will ensure that any chairs are spaced at a minimum of 5 feet apart.
- Children will be dismissed individually, with an instructor at the exit to make sure each child meets up with their parent.
- COVID-Safe Certification will be required for all Instructors and assistant instructors, as prescribed by the Martial Arts Industry Association.
